Tarheel Maker holding a fish beside a North Carolina lake

I’m the maker behind Tarheel Maker, working across wood-burning, woodworking, writing, and digital tools.

My work is rooted in North Carolina: its landscapes, working traditions, local stories, and the people who keep making things by hand.

I try to build with patience and intention, letting utility, material, and memory do as much of the work as the tools in my hands. Whether I’m shaping a board, burning a design into hardwood, or arranging the way a story is told, I’m interested in the kind of craft that feels lived in and honest.

Tarheel Maker is where those habits come together: the workshop, the notebook, the landscape, and the belief that careful work can hold both beauty and usefulness. I work slowly enough to notice things, and carefully enough to make the details count.
